Traditional English Afternoon Tea Service – by reservation only:  

We serve a splendid Traditional Afternoon Tea, made to order and served using vintage china, heritage silver and fine table linen. Setting the Table

If you wish to host your own Afternoon Tea in the comfort of your home, we will box up all menu items for you to pick up.  Just set your table for you and your guests, put the kettle on and brew the tea.  Please call or email us to let us know day and time of pick-up, and if there are special requests.   You can also order online during business hours at beansinthebelfry.zenpepper.com.  In the Barista area, scroll down to Tea and select Tea Service – Adult.  Be sure to leave your email address and phone number so we can follow-up.  We look forward to serving you.

We regret that most of our Live Music Events have been canceled because of the COVID-19 restrictions imposed by State and County Authorities.  We hope to resume them later in the year when possible.

Sundays:

Brunch update: no live jazz; you can order brunch items from our regular menu; for groups wishing to have a four-course fixed price Brunch, please contact us at customerservice@beansinthebelfry.com for advance reservations

Open Music Jams update: no jamming because of COVID-19 until further notice.

  • Sunday Jazz Brunch: Every Sunday from 11am to 2pm.  Fixed price menu $18.  Delicious four-course meal with many selections to choose from.  Excellent live jazz groups:  Jazz Brunch Sample menu 
  • Old Time jamming photo - sepia - by Linda Diammond, NYCOld Time Open Jam with Old Time Frederick, 1st and 3rd Sunday, 3 to 5pm open to all with a fiddle, banjo, mandolin or guitar that wish to join an open group for merry music making.  
  • Bluegrass Open Jam, 2nd and 4th Sunday, from 3pm to 6pm.  Feel free to join the group and enjoy lively home-grown music the way it was meant to be.  Great for listening, too.

Friday and Saturday Evenings  (on hold until after COVID-19):

Live Music varies: quartets, trios, duos or solo singer/songwriters; folk, blues, Jimi Cupino Project on stagebluegrass, country, Irish, traditional, roots, popular, oldies, light rock, originals, 7pm to 9:30pm.  See schedule on Google Events Calendar below.  Please check NEWS on our homepage for very rare last minute substitutions or cancellations.

Saturday Afternoon  (on hold until after COVID-19):

  • Games Club of Maryland, board games and card games 3rd Saturday from 1 to 7pm open to public and novices are welcome.  Club members bring all supplies and are ready to teach you a new hobby.
  • Open Ukulele jam for lovers of the mighty uke, all levels, let’s have fun and take a musical trip to Hawaii and the Islands.  4th Saturday, 2 to 4pm.

Monthly Events (on hold until after COVID-19):

  • Knit Wit Knitting Circle, Every Second Tuesday starting at 10 am until whenever.  Stay for lunch!

 Private Events

Beans in the Belfry is available to host private parties, Showers, Receptions, Benefits, Galas, Teen Ice Cream or  Milkshake Socials, Children’s Tea, and Birthday parties.  For more information, please contact us.

Special Events (pending COVID-19):  Progressive Dinner,  TBA, three courses starting at 6:30pm;   in March: Big St. Patrick’s Day Concert by Craggy Island and the Scanlans, specially prepared Irish lamb stew and Guinness,  in September:  Wine and chocolate tasting during the Wine and Chocolate Walk, enjoy ‘champagne’ one of three ways: Mimosa, Bellini or au naturel.  Jazz Brunch on Mother’s Day is a four-course affair with many selections from 11am to 2pm.  CG Duo provides finest jazz entertainment on keyboard, sax, clarinet, flute and light vocals;  in October:  Railroad Days Brunswick Street Festival first weekend in October;  in December:  Hometown Holidays on second Saturday,  featuring activities for kids and adults 11am to 10pm; 

HAPPY HOUR, Monday to Friday, 3pm to 6pm, $1 off beer and wine
